The story of FORGEMAIN began about 30 years ago, when a young artistic ironsmith from South Africa landed in Corsica, with no other luggage than his love and know-how of his craft.

Going against the current of the industrial design tendencies of that time, he designed and produced, in hand-wrought iron, artistic items with everyday utility: furniture, light fittings, banisters, stairways, chimneys.

As the years went by, his reputation grew, and finally overflowed the limits of the island, and the pressure for a broader diffusion of his creations, until then confined to privileged clients, became more and more demanding.

Thus was born the idea of creating a commercial company, based on authenticity and the promotion of a high level of aesthetics and technicity.

Our products are always handmaid by highly qualified craftsmen: a careful look will reveal the slight differences between each item which prove the unique "signature" of each smithy.
